Corey’s birthday, beach and boat ride

Yesterday, we celebrated Corey’s 9th birthday by renting the largest sized pontoon boat that Snook Bight has. We loaded it up Corey’s friends and family (a total of 8 kids, 8 adults and one winer dog), a cooler, chairs and fishing gear. We did this last year for his birthday as well but rented a smaller boat out of Bonita Beach. It was nice this year that we were leaving out of the marina in which we live. With the boat packed up and ready to go, we left the marina. Once outside the marina, Randy let Corey take over driving us to New Pass where we would beach it for the day. Corey is an excellent captain and has driven his Dad’s flats boat many times. We chose New Pass (rather than the closer Big Carlos Pass) because it is kind of our old stomping ground. Back when we live in a house, we would put in Randy’s flats boat at Week’s Fish Camp and head over to New Pass. We’ve spent lots of time and good memories, so we thought it would be an excellent place for the birthday party. It was a gorgeous, sunny and 75 degree day and the kids had a blast between fishing, boogie boarding and digging in the sand. Once it was time to go, we headed back to the marina and parked the boat in the slip next to us (our neighbors, Sun Drum were out for the day) where we continued the party. On the dock and pontoon boat, we had cake and watched Corey open his presents. It was a fabulous day and I’m pretty sure all the kids (and parents) slept well that night.

  1. I think everybody wants to go to Cory’s birthday party. Hey was the Johnny Boy there? It was hard to tell because he didn’t have a stoogie burning away.

    Great party Cory, Happy Birthday!
