Randy and I have been looking for spots to anchor out overnight—just quick little trips we can do for one night or a weekend since we both work. On Saturday we decided to try out a spot at Bunche Beach. Bunche Beach is a Lee County Parks & Recreation preserve located on San Carlos Bay. To get there we headed out of Matanzas Pass and made a quick right back toward the beach. It took us about 40 minutes to get there from Snook Bight Marina. At our anchorage on Saturday evening and night, we were getting hit by south east swells so we were rocking a bit but it wasn’t too bad. We took the dinghy to shore and enjoyed the sunny Florida afternoon.

On Sunday morning, the boys took Sophie ashore and did a little fishing while I relaxed on Blue Turtle with the calm morning waters. We decided to pull up anchor around 10:30am and head over to anchor off Fort Myers Beach for a few hours. We dropped anchor just off of the Lani Kai property and dinghyed into shore for a rum runner. After a couple hours there, it was time to pull up anchor and head back into the pass toward the marina. I think we will do this trip more often since it didn’t require alot of time to get there. It will give us a quick and easy way to get off the dock.

Sunday night, we had a Super Bowl dock party on D Dock. Randy and I loaned out our 39″ flat screen tv and we situated it on the top deck of What’s Next?(Rick and Debbie’s 40′ Mainship trawler). We had wonderful weather (compared to last year) and excellent food and company.

What great pics. Loved seeing it all. Looks like a great life!
Enjoy and stay safe. Jo
All of it sounds great unless you were a Bronco’s fan. Nice tour and a good way to get off the dock.
Where’s my rumrunner?
