With all the hard work we’ve been putting in at work and on the boat projects, we decided to get away last weekend for a quick trip to Cayo Costa to meet Sea Crazy and crew. The trip there was GORGEOUS! We had a mama and baby dolphin riding our bow for about 10 minutes on the way there. Such a cool thing to see no matter how many times it happens to us.
We met up with Sea Crazy Friday evening and deployed all the water toys (kayaks and dinghies) and then relaxed and caught up over Johnny’s famous margaritas.
On Saturday morning, April’s friends, Mel and Bill, arrived on their fishing boat to visit and stay a night. They took Corey wake boarding after lunch at Cabbage Key and later that day Bill took Randy and Corey fishing but it turned out to be too windy. Cocktails and dinner were on Sea Crazy and we had a great evening to finish off a fabulous day.
On Sunday morning, Mel and Bill had to leave. We had planned to stay to around noon before heading home. Randy and Corey took the dinghy fishing and Corey caught a nice sea trout. Johnny and Corey provided some comic relief when they got in Johnny’s dinghy and started the motor to take it out for a test drive (John had been having issues with it). The motor died right after leaving our boats and they had to paddle it back. Johnny made us a round of Bloody Mary’s and we enjoyed the rest of the morning before heading home.
