Blue Turtle Cruising

TrawlerFest Stuart 2019 a success

Another TrawlerFest is in the books!

Two weeks ago, Randy and I drove to the east coast of Florida to participate in our third TrawlerFest in Stuart, Florida. Unfortunately, this year we didn’t have Corey with us. Being a teenager now, we’ve realized that we just aren’t cool enough for him to hang out with anymore 🙁 Maybe he’ll come with us again in the future. The show was held at the Hutchinson Island Marrott Beach Resort & Marina. Seminars were held Tuesday through Saturday with the in-water boat show Thursday through Saturday.

Once again, I participated in the Admiral’s Roundtable alongside Alyse Caldwell (of Captain Chris Yacht Services) and Alexandra Bruce. Our panel fielded questions from a group of lovely ladies who brought up subjects ranging from safety, navigation and weather to organization, storage and galley tools we can’t live without. It’s always fun to share and learn from other cruisers and sooner-to-be-cruisers.

Our presentation on Cruising to the Dry Tortugas was our biggest one yet! We had over 50 people attend and ask questions, some staying after to discuss in more detail with us. We always love sharing our experiences in the Dry Tortugas with others and explain why we love cruising there so much. Randy, Corey and I are hoping to get back there again soon.
