Blue Turtle Cruising

The hurricane that never was (at least for us)

So, Tropical Storm Isaac has come and gone and left very little mark with southwest Florida. Overnight, the storm moved further west into the Gulf of Mexico and is currently heading toward Louisiana. Originally, Isaac was to become a hurricane by the time it passed us, but with it’s westward path, it somehow missed us and basically caused no threat whatsoever. We got a little rain and some minor wind, but were able to sleep through the night (at least I did). Today we actually got more wind gusts after Isaac passed us than when he went thorough. We left our boat tied up the same as before since we were bouncing around alot. Randy and I had originally planned to spend the afternoon putting our bridge and ising glass back together but with the strong wind, we decided to wait until tomorrow. One noticeable difference is the water level. Yesterday, the water levels were so low we had to step up to get off the boat. Today, we have to do a giant leap off the boat with the high water levels. All in all, Isaac turned out to be uneventful which was just fine by us new-old boat owners. It was a great run-through for Randy and I should we have to endure storms in our future.
