Blue Turtle Cruising

The name Blue Turtle was formed in 2008 when Randy and I were brainstorming names for my graphic and web design business. After many ideas and lists, I settled on Blue Turtle. Inspired by my love of sea turtles and adding our favorite color (blue) a name was born.

Four years later (in 2012), we purchased a 1974 Defever Passagemaker trawler to live on full time.  While trying to decide what to name her, Randy suggested the name Blue Turtle, since she was blue and slow. It made sense. We lived aboard Blue Turtle for 9 years in Fort Myers Beach, FL. There, we worked full-time, raised our son and cruised the gulf waters, Keys and Dry Tortugas.

In 2021, we sold the trawler and purchased a 1978 CSY sailboat for our next chapter: retirement and learning to sail. We named her Blue Turtle as well and we cruised full time for 3 years along the east coast of the U.S. and the Bahamas.

After 12 years living full time on a boat, we were ready for a new chapter—one that involves land! We bought our first RV, a 2016 Tiffin Allegro Class A, in 2025 and immediately headed West. So far, we are enjoying land life on the move. Stay tuned for more adventures.
